Psalms, Prayer and Prophecy.
By Pastor Don. Roy Hemingway.
Psalm 92.21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High,
2 to show forth Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness every night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For Thou, Lord, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will triumph in the works of Thy hands.
5 O Lord, how great are Thy works! And Thy thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand this:
7 when the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish, it is that they shall be destroyed for ever;
8 but Thou, Lord, art Most High for evermore.
9 For lo, Thine enemies, O Lord, for lo, Thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
10 But my horn shalt Thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
11 Mine eye also shall see what I desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear what I desire upon the wicked that rise up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing to show
15 that the Lord is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
A Special Prayer.
Send down Thy Holy Spirit, O most merciful Father, upon us Thy servants, and so fill us with Thy grace and heavenly benediction, that we may be sanctified and devoted to Thy service. And since Thou mercifully consent to make our hearts Thy Temple, grant that we may never defile Thy sanctuary by any impure or unholy thoughts, but may preserve it fit for Thy abode and resting place; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Isaiah Prophecy.
Isaiah 15. 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 The burden of Moab: Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence, because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence,
2 he is gone up to Bajith and to Dibon, the high places, to weep. Moab shall howl over Nebo and over Medeba; on all their heads shall be baldness and every beard cut off.
3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth; on the tops of their houses and in their streets every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.
4 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh; their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz; therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.
5 “My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, a heifer of three years old; for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate; for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.
7 Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up shall they carry away to the Brook of the Willows.
8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.
9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood; for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth from Moab and upon the remnant of the land.”
